WELCOME TO THE FUTURE OF DIABETES MEDICINE

Thanks to advances in medical research, we now have a way to reverse Type II Diabetes and improve your symptoms. This new technology is called Physiologic Insulin Resensitization (PIR) and it’s available today at St. Luke Integrative Medical Center. Patients participating in PIR have seen improvement in neuropathy, chronic kidney disease, energy levels, high blood sugars, and other symptoms of diabetes. Dr. Charmaine Ortega and her experienced medical staff are excited to bring PIR to the Huntsville area and help those suffering from Type II Diabetes find relief. To learn more about PIR or schedule a consultation appointment, please call (256) 489-0757 or click the button to request an appointment online.

How does PIR work?

Physiologic Insulin Resensitization (PIR) is a medical innovation that reduces or even reverses symptoms associated with diabetes. Since the pancreas has quit delivering the body's insulin in the method of normal healthy physiology, PIR uses FDA cleared pumps to mimic the proper delivery of insulin. Thus, the cell receptors reset, accept the insulin, cell walls open, glucose enters the cell and the mitochondria are now able to make energy for the cell to function.

Does PIR have any other benefits?

Yes! The increase in your cell’s ability to produce energy can have widespread health benefits. At first, this extra energy is used to repair cells. After repeated treatment sessions, restoration progresses to entire organs. This helps the body naturally return to a more normal, healthy state.

It’s important to note that metabolic impairment is a chronic disease. If patients stop therapy, the improvements experienced from these treatments will diminish over time.

What will I experience during a PIR treatment?

During your appointment, FDA-approved fast-acting insulin is administered through an FDA-approved portable pump. Each treatment will last two to three hours. Since the pump is portable, you’re free to move around during treatment. However, we encourage you to take the treatment as a moment of rest in your recliner. Staff will be readily available to answer questions and tend to any needs you may have.
